Hiriluk and Chopper are an outcast duo. Hiriluk, a quack doctor, takes in an injured Chopper, teaching him not to hate people and to one day see the world. After a year, Hiriluk, who is now gravely ill, feigns anger and drives Chopper away to prevent the reindeer from seeing his poor condition.
